A song to honor a departing manager. Sung by his staff to the tune of “My Favorite Things” from the Rogers and Hammerstein II 1959 musical, “The Sound of Music”

Sutherland , Callas, and Horne, Sills, and Norman,
Chic shops, Mark Adams
And co-ops with doormen;
A stroll through The Park or the Met’s art-filled wings…
These are a few of Moe’s favorite things.

Microwave popcorn, small pretzels, hard candy,
Beige toilet paper,
Cream soda…are dandy!
Sandwiches, salads, soups, at Au Bon Pain flings…
These are a few of Moe’s favorite things.

Loathes all losers –
Can’t stand boozers –
Never acts in haste.
Deliberate, thorough, calm, gracious, straight-laced…
His number one trait: good taste!

Comes late to meetings, speaks seemingly by whim;
Seems lost in his own thoughts
But nothing gets by him!
Playing the game, making deals, pulling strings,
These are a few of Moe’s favorite things.

So on this sad day, we sing this song to you;
Our heart-filled fun tribute –
This accolade’s due you.
‘Mid life here at work with its barbs, shocks and stings
You’re truly was one of our favorite things!

When the fur flies,
When the press lies,
When there’s been a gaffe.
No matter how rough, you would help us hang tough;
How great that we were your staff!
